HSSE Manager
Job Summary:
- As the HSSE Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of health, safety, security, and environmental initiatives within our organization. You will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship among employees. The HSSE Manager will work closely with various departments to identify risks, implement preventative measures, and promote continuous improvement in HSSE performance.
Working Conditions:
- The position involves working in both office and field environments. Additionally, the HSSE Manager may be required to work non-standard hours in response to emergencies or operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Develop and Implement HSSE Policies and Procedures:
- Create, review, and update health, safety, security, and environmental policies in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with HSSE standards across all levels of the organization.
2- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Facilitate Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies to systematically identify, assess, and mitigate process-related hazards and operational risks.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement controls and preventive measures to minimize workplace incidents and environmental impacts.
3- Training and Education:
- Design and deliver HSSE training programs for employees, contractors, and other relevant parties.
- Promote awareness of HSSE policies and procedures through various communication channels and training sessions.
4- Incident Management:
- Establish and maintain incident reporting systems to promptly address accidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents.
- Lead investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
5- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to health, safety, security, and environmental protection.
- Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable HSSE regulations and standards.
6- Emergency Preparedness and Response:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans to effectively manage crises such as natural disasters, security threats, or industrial accidents.
- Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response procedures.
7- Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and analyse HSSE performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement in HSSE processes, practices, and performance indicators.
8- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including management, employees, and contractors, to promote a culture of safety, security, and environmental responsibility.
- Interface with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community groups, to foster positive relationships and demonstrate organizational commitment to HSSE.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional certifications in health and safety (e.g., ISO45001, ISO14001, NEBOSH) and/or environmental management (e.g., CEM, CEP) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in HSSE management roles, preferably in industrial sectors such as, oil and gas, industrial, refineries.
- In-depth knowledge of HSSE regulations, standards, and environment management system NFPA codes and standards experience and best practices,
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Proven experience in risk management and HAZID & HAZOP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to drive change, foster a safety culture, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in using HSSE management systems and software for data analysis and reporting.
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in the same Field with Minimum 5 years’ experience in management roles
