Within the framework of the strategic plan of the Jordan Industrial Ports Company to achieve the requirements of the global green ports, furthermore, to promote the fact, that "industrial ports" are environmentally friendly ports and consolidate the commercial, cooperative and strategic relations with the franchisors "The Government of Jordan" represented by the Aqaba Development Company, the company - holding the international certificate "ECO Port SLC" as the first Jordanian port operator since 2020 - has initiated an educational course entitled "Smart Green Ports" in cooperation with its partners in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges (Belgium). A team from the Jordan Industrial Ports Company and the Aqaba Development Company was trained in preparation for the formulation of a common vision between the parties to the development and operation agreement (concession contract) and to achieve commercial, environmental and community sustainability within the Aqaba region.
It is worth mentioning that Jordan Industrial Ports Company holds ISO accreditation certificates in quality, public safety, and environmental management in addition to receiving the Award for Excellence in Public Safety and Occupational Health issued by the Social Security Institution for the maritime and port sector.
