Jordanian Industrial Ports Company started the new year by berthing the vessel “CK ANGIE” on its` jetties, announcing the berth of the largest vessel since the establishment and rehabilitation of the port, as it is expected to load 78,090 Metric Ton of potash, and the intended loading plan aims to reach the designed capacity of the new industrial jetty. The new loading rates were raised to more than 3,500 metric tons per hour using two loading lanes at the same time, achieving the largest loading rates within the Aqaba Ports system. Noting that in 2020 JIPC also achieved a new milestone by loading the vessel “KMARIN GOTEBORG” with 70,000 Metric Ton of DAP fertilizer by Jordan Phosphate Mining Company.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Eng. Abdul Wahab Al-Rawad confirmed that the fruit of investment in the industrial port has emerged and crystallized by achieving such record numbers, knowing that its repercussions are direct on the partners and users of the industrial port.
His Excellency Dr. Maen Al-Nsour, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company “CEO of the Arab Potash Company”, stated that handling this vessel is not limited to being considered a record number for the Jordanian Industrial Ports Company, but extends to achieving record numbers for the Arab Potash Company and the company receiving potash in the Republic of China, where this shipment is considered The largest since the founding of the Arab Potash Company.
The General Manager of Jordan Industrial Ports Company, Eng. Khaled Shehadeh, expressed his pleasure at receiving the vessel and elaborated that the new northern jetty has the design capacity to receive vessels with a tonnage of 100,000 metric tons, in order to achieve the investment objectives of the project to expand and rehabilitate the industrial port, which raised the capacity from 5 million tons annually to 10 million tons, in addition to the operational capacities and the ability to serve users with the highest standards of quality, safety, and environment.
